Le isole
The artist’s assiduous frequentation of the islands, especially the Greek ones of the Aegean sea, inspired him a series of works dedicated to them. A sense of static contemplation emanates from these works in even more “minimalist” compositions, mental landscapes. The concept of island is used in the artist’s language as a metaphor for elsewhere, a closed universe, self-sufficient, but also utopian.
We go out of time, or in all times, immersing ourselves, like Odysseus in the Mediterranean Sea, in the paintings of Cesare Reggiani.
